Bills Acquire Nyheim Hines From The Colts

The Buffalo Bills acquired running back Nyheim Hines from the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday in exchange for running back Zack Moss and a sixth-rounder that can go to a fifth-rounder in 2023, according to sources. The pass-catching Hines moves from an offense in disarray to one of the best in the NFL with the trade. However, Devin Singletary has seen the lion's share of the backfield touches in Buffalo so far in 2022, and the team still has impressive rookie James Cook, so it's unclear how much exactly the Bills will use the 25-year-old Hines. But at the very least, Hines becomes more attractive in terms of pure upside in PPR leagues. In seven games with Indy this year, he had caught 25 of 28 targets for 188 yards and no touchdowns, adding just 18 carries for 36 yards and one touchdown.

    Nyheim Hines Receiving Trade Interest

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines is reportedly receiving trade calls, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It is unclear whether the Colts are willing to entertain offers for the talented pass-catching running back, although at 3-4-1, Indianapolis is likely to be sellers at Tuesday's trade deadline. A Hines trade would likely open up extra work for Week 6 star Deon Jackson, who has been operating as the team's No. 3 running back in 2022.

Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines Will Play Against Titans

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) do not have injury designations on Friday and will play in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. Meanwhile, Deon Jackson (quadriceps) has also been taken off the injury report, so he'll provide depth behind Taylor and Hines on Sunday. Taylor will return after missing the last two games with an ankle sprain. He's been somewhat of a disappointment in fantasy through four games after being taken as the No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy leagues, but he should be returned to all starting lineups this weekend. While he could be limited, Taylor should still lead this backfield. He had 20 carries for 42 yards (2.10 yards per carry) in Week 4. Hines will have some RB3/flex appeal in deeper PPR setups.

Nyheim Hines On Track To Play In Week 7

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (concussion) is expected to be ready to go for the Week 7 matchup with the Tennessee Titans. Hines can be played as a deep-league PPR flex option or a desperation RB slot play. With Jonathan Taylor returning from an ankle injury, Hines could see extra touches and be heavily involved in the passing game. However, the Titans are a tough matchup for running backs, so Hines is a mere dart throw for fantasy managers in a tough spot.

Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, Deon Jackson Practice In Full

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Nyheim Hines (concussion) and Deon Jackson (quadriceps) all practiced in full on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday. Taylor and Hines both missed the Week 6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Jackson was injured on Sunday after a big performance as the lead back. All three look to be ready to play this weekend against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor has missed the last two games due to an ankle sprain that he suffered in Week 4. He hasn't really lived up to the No. 1 overall pick in most fantasy leagues so far in 2022, but he's trending towards returning to action this Sunday and will need to be returned to all starting fantasy lineups if that's the case.

Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, Deon Jackson All At Practice

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle), Nyheim Hines (concussion), and Deon Jackson (quad) all practiced on Wednesday. More importantly, all three were in their normal practice gear, suggesting they should be ready to play in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor has missed the past two weeks after suffering an ankle injury in Week 4 against the Titans. Meanwhile, Hines suffered a concussion early in Week 5, and Jackson left last week's game early with a quad injury. Assuming all three are ready to go on Sunday, Taylor and Hines should return to their normal roles, while Jackson likely is limited to special teams snaps. However, Taylor was on track to play last week before the Colts ruled him out on Saturday. Fantasy players should hold onto Jackson until Taylor is either off the injury report or officially active on gameday.

Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines Out For Week 6

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and Nyheim Hines (concussion) have both been downgraded to out for Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It was looking like Taylor would return after missing last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos after putting in two limited practices on Thursday and Friday, but the Colts will take the cautious approach and hold him out for another week. With both Taylor and Hines out on Sunday, expect the Colts to use some combination of Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay against the Jags. Jackson played 58 percent of the snaps last week and had 13 carries for 62 yards while catching all four targets for 29 yards. Lindsay had 11 carries for 40 yards and caught three of four targets for 14 yards.

Nyheim Hines Limited At Wednesday's Practice

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (concussion) was a limited participant in the team's practice on Wednesday after suffering a concussion early in Week 5. He was spotted in a non-contact jersey and will hope to clear the NFL's concussion protocol over the course of the week. Hines started last week in place of injured All-Pro Jonathan Taylor (ankle) and appeared to be primed for a heavy workload as he saw an opportunity in each of his three snaps. In Hines' absence, Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay (undisclosed) split reps in the Colts' backfield. Both Taylor and Lindsay missed practice on Wednesday, so Hines could be in line for a plethora of touches if cleared. If all three are ruled out, Jackson would be an intriguing flex play against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Nyheim Hines Ruled Out For Rest Of Thursday's Game

Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game against the Broncos due to a concussion. He initially got hurt during the team's opening drive. The 25-year-old was slow getting up and then checked out by the trainers. Hines was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion and ruled out for the rest of Thursday's game. Hines will need to clear league protocols to be cleared for Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Deon Jackson and Phillip Lindsay will lead the Colts' backfield while Hines is out.

Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines Will Miss Preseason Finale

Indianapolis Colts running backs Jonathan Taylor and Nyheim Hines will be held out of Saturday's preseason finale against Tampa Bay as the team attempts to rest its lead backs ahead of the regular season. Taylor, the presumptive No. 1 overall pick in many fantasy leagues, emerged as a superstar in 2021 after leading the NFL in carries (332), rushing yards (1,811) and touchdowns from scrimmage (20). Hines has served primarily as the team's change-of-pace back, but with Taylor likely to face something of a stunted workload in '22 in an attempt to keep him fresh all year, the 25-year-old holds FLEX appeal in deep leagues in his own right. Without Taylor or Hines available vs. the Bucs, Phillip Lindsay and Ty'Son Williams -- among others -- figure to lead the Indy backfield. Taylor can be considered a full-go for the team's regular-season opener Sept. 11 against Houston.
