Packers Expect Aaron Jones Back In 2023

Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst said that he expects running back Aaron Jones to return in 2023, but he didn't rule out restructuring Jones' contract like they've done with a lot of players to reduce his salary cap hit. The Packers have the option of opting out of the 28-year-old's deal for next season, but it appears they want him back if they can agree to restructure. In his sixth year with the team, Jones carried the ball 213 times for 1,121 yards and a career-low two touchdowns, but he also added a career-high 59 catches (72 targets) for 395 yards and five more TDs in 17 games. It was his third 1,000-yard season, and he finished as the RB10 in half-point PPR scoring. As long as quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns in 2023 as well, Jones should be treated as a solid low-end RB1/high-end RB2.

Aaron Jones Limited Again On Thursday

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (knee/ankle) was limited again on Thursday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 18. He was dealing with the same injuries last week until his designation was removed altogether on Friday before their Week 17 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. Jones was able to gather 111 yards on 14 carries and catch two passes for two yards in that game. Since this is similar to his trend last week, it seems like he'll most likely play and carry an RB2 status against the Detroit Lions.

Aaron Jones Carries No Injury Designation

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle, knee) was removed from Friday's final Week 17 injury report and will play on Sunday against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings. Jones rolled his ankle in the Week 16 win over the Miami Dolphins, but it's obviously not a major issue and he will be active this weekend. The Vikings defense is vulnerable everywhere and allows an average of 21.3 fantasy points in half-PPR leagues to opposing RBs, so both Jones and AJ Dillon could thrive on Sunday. The problem for Jones has been Dillon's increasing involvement with Jones battling nagging lower-body injuries in the second half. Jones should be treated as a midrange RB2 in fantasy with boom/bust potential in a very nice matchup.

Aaron Jones Limited In Practice Again

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (knee, ankle) was limited in practice on Thursday. This marks the second day in a row that Jones has been limited during practice due to lingering injuries. Honestly, this is likely the Packers being overly cautious with Jones as they get closer to gameday. Fantasy managers should fully expect Jones to be out there for the Week 17 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Possibly, AJ Dillon gets more touches if Jones isn't 100 percent healthy. That being said, Jones should be considered a RB2 for this upcoming matchup against Minnesota.

Aaron Jones Puts In A Limited Practice

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle, knee) was listed as limited in Wednesday's practice. Jones suffered an ankle injury to begin the second half in the Week 16 win over the Miami Dolphins and was used sparingly for the rest of the contest. He finished with a disappointing six carries for 25 yards while catching both of his targets for only nine yards on a season-low-tying 38 percent of the offensive snaps. Neither of his two injuries seem very serious and he's likely to play this weekend in another must-win game against the division-rival Minnesota Vikings, but the 28-year-old could once again be limited/not as effective on Sunday if he plays. AJ Dillon would benefit from a fantasy and real-life standpoint if Jones is limited at all.

Aaron Jones Good To Go For Christmas Day

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (knee) was removed from Friday's final injury report and will play in Week 16 against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Jones was listed as a limited participant in practice all week. The 28-year-old carried the ball 17 times for 90 yards and also caught four of his five targets for 36 yards and a touchdown on 56 percent of the offensive snaps in the Monday night win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15. Backfield mate AJ Dillon left with a concussion, but he was cleared the following day and should continue working in tandem with Jones on Christmas Day. A matchup against a high-scoring Dolphins team could spell trouble for Jones on the ground this weekend, but he should still be considered a low-end RB1/high-end RB2 for fantasy managers.

Aaron Jones Limited Wednesday With Knee Injury

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (knee) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice. He is dealing with a knee issue and will have two more chances to log a full practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. The 28-year-old rushed 17 times for 90 yards and caught four of five targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in last Monday's 24-12 win over the Rams. Backfield teammate A.J. Dillon (concussion) exited last Monday's victory during the second half with a concussion and did not return. Dillon's status for Week 16 is uncertain as he will have to clear protocols to have a chance to suit against Miami. Jones is a borderline RB1 and a must-start against the Dolphins, who have allowed the tenth most fantasy points to opposing running backs this season.

    Aaron Jones Limited Again Friday

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) was limited for the second straight day in practice this week on Friday. Jones has been banged up for a while, but the injury hasn't been serious enough to keep him out of any games this year. The 28-year-old comes off the team's Week 14 bye as the RB10 in half-point PPR scoring to face the Los Angeles Rams on Monday night at Lambeau Field. He played only 32 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 13, so hopefully he'll be a bigger part of the game plan after a week off. Because there's still some concern about his injury, he'll be more of a high-end RB2 for fantasy managers this week. AJ Dillon will benefit from more touches if Jones remains limited at all.

Aaron Jones Returns To Practice Tuesday

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (shin), who didn't finish the Week 13 win over the Chicago Bears due to a shin injury, returned to practice on Tuesday. The Week 14 bye looks to have been a blessing for Jones as the team gets ready for a Monday night matchup versus the Los Angeles Rams in Week 15. The 28-year-old sat out most of the second half two weeks ago and finished with only nine carries for 26 yards. He also caught all five of his targets for 24 additional yards. It led to AJ Dillon having a season-high 119 scrimmage yards in the win over Chicago. Jones' return to practice early this week is a good sign that he'll be able to play on Monday night, but fantasy managers will need to keep a close eye on his practice status. If he's out or limited at all against LA, Dillon will have RB2 upside.

    Aaron Jones Returns Versus Bears

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has returned against the Chicago Bears in Week 13. He initially exited and was listed as questionable but evidently feels healthy enough to play. He'll continue operating as Green Bay's lead back while AJ Dillon remains involved, too.

Aaron Jones Questionable To Return In Week 13

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (shin) is officially questionable to return against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. It appears that Jones re-aggravated the shin injury that hindered him in practice all week long. The 28-year-old registered four rushing yards and 20 receiving yards before exiting. AJ Dillon will operate as the Packers' lead back in his absence.

Aaron Jones, A.J. Dillon Remain Limited Thursday

Green Bay Packers running backs Aaron Jones (shin, glute) and A.J. Dillon (quad) were limited participants in Thursday's practice. Jones and Dillon have now logged back-to-back limited sessions. Neith running back is in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears and will have one more chance to log a full practice. Jones has rushed for 821 yards and two touchdowns while catching 43 passes for 304 yards and four scores over 12 games in 2022. Dillon has rushed for 531 yards on 125 attempts while catching 20 passes for 133 yards over 12 weeks. Jones remains a must-start, while Dillon is considered a flex play against the Bears in Week 13.

Aaron Jones, A.J. Dillon Each Limited On Wednesday

Green Bay Packers running backs Aaron Jones (shin/glute) and A.J. Dillon (quadriceps) each practiced in a limited capacity on Wednesday. While Jones has been on the injury report for the past few weeks, Dillon is joining him to start Week 13 after taking an awkward hit late in Sunday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles. With each being limited to start the week, they should improve in the coming practice sessions, and likely suit up in a favorable matchup against the Chicago Bears. Monitor both situations, but don't panic yet as it's still early.

Aaron Jones Off The Week 10 Injury Report

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) has been removed from Friday's final injury report and will play in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys. Jones sat out the fourth quarter of the Week 9 loss to the Detroit Lions, but he has rebounded nicely from his ankle injury and should serve as Green Bay's lead back as the Packers look to put an end to their losing streak versus Dallas. With all of the Packers injured offensive bodies, Jones figures to have a sizeable role in this game and should be considered a strong RB2 choice for fantasy managers. Jones enters Week 10 action as the RB10 in fantasy scoring with 107 carries for 600 yards and one touchdown while adding 32 receptions for 210 yards and three more touchdowns in nine games.

Aaron Jones, Christian Watson Practice Wednesday

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) and rookie wide receiver Christian Watson (chest, concussion) returned to practice on Wednesday despite leaving the Week 9 game with injuries. Jones was listed as limited, while Watson surprisingly was a full go. X-rays turned up negative on Jones' left ankle, so he'll have a chance to play in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys. The 27-year-old isn't guaranteed to play, though, and even if he's active, most of the backfield work could go to AJ Dillon. Watson has suffered two head injuries the last two weeks, but apparently he was cleared from the concussion protocol on Sunday and could play this week. With fellow rookie Romeo Doubs (ankle) out multiple weeks, Watson will have a chance for a bigger role in the passing attack if he can just stay on the field.

Aaron Jones "Should Be Able To Play This Week"

Tests on Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones' ankle on Monday came back negative, and "(Jones) should be able to play this week," according to a source. Not only did the Packers lose to the Detroit Lions on Sunday, but they added injury to insult, with rookie receivers Romeo Doubs (ankle) and Christian Watson (concussion) and linebacker Rashan Gary (knee) all getting hurt. We won't know what Jones' chances of playing in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys are until the practice week starts on Wednesday, but it's a good sign that his ankle injury doesn't appear to be too serious. If the 27-year-old is limited at all against Dallas or inactive altogether, AJ Dillon would become the Packers' lead back. We'll keep a close eye on Jones this week.

    X-Rays Negative For Aaron Jones

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) exited Sunday's loss to the Lions. He didn't return and was seen wearing a boot on his left foot after the game. Fortunately, X-rays were negative, so the Packers dodged a bullet on a day that also saw Romeo Doubs (ankle) and Christian Watson (head) succumb to injuries. As a result, all three men will need to clear some hurdles if they hope to be available in Week 10 against the Dallas Cowboys. Jones sounds like he has a chance of suiting up, although he may have to play through pain moving ahead. If he's not available, A.J. Dillon will be the No. 1 option out of the backfield.

Aaron Jones Wearing A Walking Boot After Loss

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) was seen wearing a walking boot after Sunday's loss to the Lions. The 27-year-old suffered a left ankle injury, ultimately ruling him out for the remainder of Week 9. He finished with only 25 yards off nine carries while catching both targets. However, the injury certainly hindered his production on a day where he was expected to flourish. Romeo Doubs (ankle) was also banged up in this one, so Aaron Rodgers could be without both for the Week 10 showdown against the Cowboys. If Jones can't go, A.J. Dillon, who had 34 yards off 11 touches, will be the top option out of the backfield.

Aaron Jones Tallies 45 Yards Before Early Exit In Week 9

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) took nine carries for 25 yards and added 20 yards on two receptions during the team's 15-9 loss to the Detroit Lions. The 27-year-old did not return to the game after suffering what was reported to be an ankle injury. After leaving the locker room, he ran back to the sideline, but the coaching staff never allowed him to return to the field. The severity of the injury is currently unknown, but it is disappointing for Jones, who had strung together a couple of solid fantasy performances and was projected as a top-tier option this week. He never really got anything going in this game, much like the rest of the Green Bay offense, but he was well on his way to a 15-plus touch performance. Monitor injury reports for Jones this week, but he will be considered an RB2 if he can suit up against Dallas.

Aaron Jones Questionable To Return In Week 9

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (ankle) is questionable to return against the Detroit Lions in Week 9. He exited in the third quarter of the close divisional battle. If Jones is forced to miss any time, AJ Dillon would serve as the lead back, ranking as a solid RB2 option in fantasy football.
