Joshua Dobbs Will Start Versus Jaguars
Tennessee Titans quarterback Joshua Dobbs will start at quarterback against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday night. The Titans vs. Jaguars has been flexed to Saturday at 8:15 PM Easter, as the winner will win the AFC South and host a playoff game in the Wild Card round. In the first start of his career in Week 17, Dobbs completed 20 of his 39 passing attempts for 232 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Tennessee ultimately lost to the Dallas Cowboys, but the offense looked better than it had with Malik Willis under center. Dobbs is strictly a Superflex/two-QB league option in Week 18.

The Tennessee Titans are expected to bench rookie quarterback Malik Willis and will start third-stringer Joshua Dobbs on Thursday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys. Willis made his third NFL start in the Week 16 loss to the Houston Texans and went 14-for-23 for just 99 yards while carrying the ball seven times for 43 yards and a touchdown. Dobbs was just signed to Tennessee's practice squad off the Detroit Lions practice squad on Dec. 21. He has never started an NFL game and has played in just six games in two seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers, going 10-for-17 for 45 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. The Titans are essentially resting most of their starters ahead of a win-and-in game in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Needless to say, fantasy managers should avoid the Titans offense like the plague on Thursday night.

With Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill's (ankle) status in doubt for the Week 16 game against the Houston Texans this Saturday, the team signed quarterback Joshua Dobbs off the Detroit Lions' practice squad, according to his agent Mike McCartney. According to reports, Tannehill is facing an uphill battle to play on Christmas Eve, which would put rookie Malik Willis to make only his second NFL start under center. Dobbs hasn't played in a regular season NFL game since 2020 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he's never made a start in two NFL seasons. If Tannehill isn't cleared to play against the Texans, Dobbs would be the immediate backup to the rookie Willis.

The Cleveland Browns waived quarterback Joshua Dobbs on Monday to make room on the active roster for quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was officially reinstated from his suspension. Watson will make his season debut for the Browns in Week 13 against his old team, the Houston Texans. Jacoby Brissett, who has started for Cleveland all year, will back up Watson the rest of the way. Kellen Mond will serve as the No. 3 signal-caller with Dobbs now out of the picture. If Dobbs clears waivers, the Browns will likely bring him back to their practice squad. The 27-year-old hasn't played in an NFL game since the 2020 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
