Broncos put Randy Gregory on IR
The Denver Broncos placed linebacker Randy Gregory (knee) on injured reserve Saturday ahead of their Week 17 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Gregory appeared in just six games (three starts) this season and was benched during Denver's 51-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams last Sunday after picking up a pair of penalties. He then exchanged punches with Rams offensive lineman Oday Aboushi following the game and was originally issued a one-game suspension by the NFL, but his punishment ended up getting reduced to a $50,000 fine. In Gregory's six games, he recorded 12 tackles and forced two fumbles. The decision to put Gregory on IR comes just one day after tight end Greg Dulcich also landed on IR with a hamstring injury. With the two open roster spots, the Broncos promoted cornerback Lamar Jackson and linebacker Jonathan Kongbo to the active roster from the practice squad. Jackson, 24, has appeared in one game for Denver after spending time with the Chicago Bears earlier this season. The 26-year-old Kongbo is in his first season in the NFL and has played two games for the Broncos, recording one tackle. Linebackers Wyatt Ray and Ray Wilborn were also elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game against Kansas City. --Field Level Media
