In 2021, when the Jets and Packers practiced together, Wilson himself acknowledged that he was a “fan boy.” The opportunity to ask him questions about “footwork, what’s going on on the field, and what he’s seeing” thrilled the rookie quarterback at the time. Along with that, he said that he would “spend more time with him and just keep asking questions.”

Zach Wilson, the New York Jets’ backup quarterback, has made significant progress since Aaron Rodgers joined the team.

Following a strong debut in the Hall of Fame game last week, Wilson put on another strong effort on Saturday night. The Jets decided to make a huge move at the position and trade for the illustrious Rodgers as a result of the former second-overall selection pick’s excruciating struggles in his first two seasons in the league.

Wilson executed a play that was uncannily similar to one that Rodgers had executed earlier in his career when playing for the Green Bay Packers. The quarterback took the snap, pretending to sprint, then rolled out and completed the ball for the score while throwing off one foot.

On the play-action, Wilson rolled out, slowed down, and flipped the ball back across his body for six. NFL fans noticed the parallels right away since the entire play was flawless.

With Rodgers anticipated to lead one of the league’s top lineups to a playoff run, Wilson’s chances this season will probably be limited to the preseason.

Wilson might benefit greatly from having Rodgers as a mentor because the four-time MVP is getting close to being 40 and only has a few more seasons remaining.
