Zach Wilson Injury Status: Likely To Miss Out Until 4 Weeks – NFL 2022?

Zach Wilson, a young quarterback, will benefit from the Jets’ extensive offseason additions in 2022. However, that transition won’t happen until about the fourth week of the season.

Jets coach Robert Saleh said that quarterback Zach Wilson would probably miss the first three games as he heals from the knee injury he sustained in the preseason, two days after suggesting Wilson might start Sunday against the Ravens. Wilson is not anticipated to make a return until the Jets’ game against the Steelers on October 2.

The earliest he will be available is in Pittsburgh, according to Saleh. “Based solely on the information we have gathered over the past few days, that will be the earliest. Can that now be altered? I’m always going to leave that door open. You guys know me. I’m the eternal optimist.

Zach Wilson’s Injury

In the opening game of this preseason in August, Wilson injured his knee. He was supposed to be off for two to four weeks, but he ended up needing surgery. Only because Wilson’s injury has not gotten worse and he is able to take part in team practices was he not placed on injured reserve.

In his absence, veteran Joe Flacco, who will face his old team, the Baltimore Ravens, in the first game of this season coming Sunday at 2 pm EST, will be in charge of the Gang Green’s offence.

Wilson’s right knee sustained a partial meniscus tear and a bone bruise in the Jets’ preseason Week 1 game against the Eagles. As some believed he may have torn his ACL, he would avoid suffering a serious injury.

However, Wilson would require surgery to trim the meniscus in his right knee, and reports stated that he would require a recovery time of four to six weeks.

Joe Falco To Take Over

Thus, Joe Flacco, who has a record of…five losses and has already started five games for the Jets in the past two years, is back. He threw nine touchdown passes and three interceptions in those games.

Thus, the 37-year-old will begin by reuniting with the group that he guided to victory in 2012–2013.
