Zach Wilson booed by Jets fans after horror outing vs Jacksonville Jaguars
New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson failed to make his second opportunity with the team count on Sunday as he put in another dismal performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16. The Jets suffered a 3-19 defeat against the Jaguars at MetLife Stadium and Wilson was brought back onto the bench after being booed by the home crowd.
Why was Zach Wilson booed by the Jets supporters?
Zach Wilson completed only 9 of 18 passes for 82 yards with an interception and a dismal 41.9 rating for the Jets in Week 16 of the NFL season. Wilson returned from a three-game benching last Sunday in place of the injured Mike White. However, he couldn’t make any plays and his offensive line gave him little protection.

Wilson was then subbed back onto the bench after his poor showing against Jacksonville. He was replaced by Chris Streveler, a run-first gadget QB. It was a new low in Wilson’s short NFL career so far.

In total, Wilson has managed only 1,688 passing yards with six touchdowns and seven interceptions for the New York outfit this term. The 23-year-old appears to be having an extremely tough time with the Jets and there is an indication that he may not continue to stay with the franchise next season.
zach wilson has lost the trust of the Jet fanbase. im not saying it’s impossible. it will be very hard to regain their trust again. i witnessed these same boos when brett farve was under center.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh has been under pressure as well. The Jets are now in fourth place in their division and their chances of making the playoffs have dropped immensely. They will now need to win their remaining two games and hope that other results go their way in order to make the postseason. Or else, they will be out of playoff contention soon.
