‘You Ain’t Making it Past Three!’- Henry Cejudo Issues a Stern Warning to UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling
It’s rather uncommon to witness two top UFC fighters square off against each other before a fight has even been announced, however, that’s exactly what went down between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo recently. Both men appeared on Daniel Cormier’s ‘The DC Check In’ interview show where he gets up close and personal with top stars in the sport.
In a face-off style interview, Cormier had both Cejudo and Sterling sit in the same room as they went back and forth on what a potential fight between the two of them would look like. Notably, both fighters have gone back and forth on social media several times in the past, and it is refreshing to see them duke it out face-to-face for the first time.

Who takes this one? Henry Cejudo or Aljamain Sterling?
‘Triple C’ has talked about returning to the UFC for a while now and he is interested to take on the featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski for all the marbles. This would allow Henry Cejudo to become the first three-division UFC champion, a feat never accomplished before.
However, he is equally enticed by the idea of coming back and reclaiming his bantamweight title from the undisputed champion Aljamain Sterling. In the face-off style interview, he promised Sterling that he would be finished before the third round.
“I told Dominick Cruz that he ain’t making it past three, and I’m gonna tell Aljamain Sterling that now. You ain’t making it past three, either.”
‘The Funkmaster’ couldn’t contain his amusement at Henry Cejudo’s bold claim and went on to say that he has shut down all of the opponents he has faced recently.
“It’s just funny to hear this. It’s like, alright, just do your best, do your worst, and bring what you gotta bring because, at the end of the day, I’ve heard a lot of people say all these things about me. And it’s this, ‘He can’t do this, he got no power, he can’t strike, he can’t take me down, he’s a D-3 wrestler,’ and I just keep shutting everybody the f*** up.” [h/t bjpenn.com]
There’s no doubt that a Cejudo vs Sterling match-up would be met with a lot of fanfare since both men are polarising individuals. Moreover, their skillset provides for an exciting contest, be it on the feet or on the mat.
