The 7’6″ Hall of Famer took up a lot of room as he sat courtside at the Barclays Center for Brooklyn’s game against the Cavaliers.

Yao was shown in-game photos sitting with his legs crossed in his courtside position. While it appeared that he had an excellent view of the action, others seated behind him did not have the same advantage.

Imagine the emotions of the Nets supporters after they get over the excitement of being seated behind a behemoth, who was chosen first overall by Houston in 2002, and realize they probably paid close to $8,000 on tickets to a game they won’t be able to attend.

I’m not sure how much the Brooklyn opener’s tickets will cost exactly. However, first-row tickets for Saturday’s game against Boston at the Barclays Center are priced at $4,852 per, just for comparison’s sake.

As soon as the image of Yao appeared on social media, many NBA fans immediately began to joke that the eight-time All-Star from the Rockets was blocking other fans’ views.

Call it $8k out the door to see and listen to the Nets lose to Cleveland while ogling Yao Ming’s massive head, shoulders, and back.

Not to mention the amount of money Nets supporters have to shell out for ridiculously priced beers in an attempt to forget that Ben Simmons, with his contract of around $38 million, is still a member of the Brooklyn team.
