Yankees Is Nothing Without Their Captain Aaron Judge: Stats Shows The Downfall

Aaron Judge’s catch through the right-field wall during the Yankees’ three-game series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles last weekend stands out among the many events that took place.

Yankees Is Nothing Without Their Captain Aaron Judge: Stats Shows The Downfall

The Dodgers could have had a huge inning coming, but the defending AL MVP raced down the liner and snagged the ball before smashing through the chain link fence and into the bullpen.

There is no fracture, according to manager Aaron Boone, and there is no set date for Judge’s return to the lineup. Judge was given a platelet rich plasma injection and has an official diagnosis of ligament sprain and contusion. The AL MVP for 2022 is spending his second season on the IL at this time.

Judge, 31, was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday night due to a toe bruise and toe ligament strain.

No player, in my opinion, is more essential to the success of any team than Judge. Even though Judge is fit and active, the club often follows his lead: if he doesn’t hit or score runs, the offense frequently sputters as a result.

Despite not starting baseball again, Aaron Judge seems to be reacting to a second platelet-rich plasma injection to his right big toe.

“I’m encouraged by what I’m seeing,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said before Tuesday’s series-opening 3-1 win over the Seattle Mariners. “He’s been slowly doing better and able to do more things, but do feel like hopefully that was the start of him really starting to make some real progress.”

After establishing an American League record with 62 home runs last season, Judge is the current MVP of the league. He is striking.291 with 19 home runs and 40 RBIs this season, and the Yankees are 31-19 when Judge is active compared to 9-14 while he’s on the disabled list.

I bet the Yankees can’t wait to see their Captain back on the pitch!

The New York Yankees offense has been terrible without Aaron Judge.

Despite defeating the Seattle Mariners in a series this week, the Yankees’ offense continues to be a major headache. On Friday night, the club scored just two runs in a 4-2 loss to the Texas Rangers.

The weather was of no consolation to the Rangers, who fell to 41-35 after Adolis Garcia’s two-run home ball in the 10th inning cost them a 4-2 victory at Yankee Stadium.

As their greatest hitter, Aaron Judge, remains out indefinitely, the Yankees have only scored four runs in their previous 19 innings.

It gets worse since their bullpen, which has been the team’s most reliable unit this season, bore just as much responsibility for the loss as the Yankees’ hitting struggles. Clay Holmes put the Yankees in a hole in the eighth inning before Michael King gave up the winning runs in the 10th.

Josh Jung doubled off Holmes with one out in the eighth inning to give the Rangers a 2-1 edge.

Robbie Grossman’s groundout advanced him to third, and Mitch Garver’s base single sent him home.

Following doubles by Isiah Kiner-Falefa and Billy McKinney, Kyle Higashioka’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Yankees the lead.

But the rally came to an end there. Harrison Bader, who was used as a pinch hitter, flew out to center and Anthony Volpe struck out swinging.

The offense of the Yankees blew their few chances, as has become the norm.

The Yankees are third in the American League East with a record of 41-35 right now. They are 10.5 games down in the division lead after losing seven of their past ten games. They are tied for second/third place in the wild card race, although they are just 0.5 games and 1.5 games ahead of Toronto and the Angels, respectively.

On Saturday in the afternoon, the Yankees will face the Rangers once more. Texas’ Jon Gray (6-2, 2.96 ERA) and New York’s Luis Severino (0-2, 6.30 ERA) will face off in the game’s opening pitch at 4:05 p.m. ET.

Texas is 47–28.
