Why not distract them with a small sideshow given how badly the New York Yankees are currently suffering and how low morale is on the team? This one has Michael Kay with an unidentified Yankees supporter.

Yankees Broadcaster Michael Kay All Over The Headlines For His DM’s With A Fan

Michael Kay got into a heated argument with a Yankees fan who said he was being too kind of Brian Cashman given the team’s shaky start to the year.

“You watch every game, right?” the Twitter user asked Kay. “Explain to me how you could possibly defend Cashman.”

The Twitter user @PlayoffBader, who has less than 700 followers, had a fascinating conversation with Kay, who mostly broadcasts games for the YES Network and conducts a self-titled radio program. The incident began when a fan tweeted Kay directly, challenging him to defend Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, who has had trouble getting his club to compete at a World Series level despite having a star-studded roster led by Aaron Judge.

Kay sent a very long direct message to the fan via Twitter, daring the user to find an instance of him defending Cashman.

“You give me a quote, or a sentence where I defended Cashman on the air tonight, any proof you can come up with, and I will make a sizable donation to your favorite charity. Again, any instance of me defending the Yankee GM during tonight’s broadcast, and I will gladly make the donation.

“And if you can’t come up with proof, and you will not be able to because it doesn’t exist, I want nothing back from you, other than you gaining the knowledge that what you and others hear is that when someone isn’t bashing Cashman who think they’re defending him. I will patiently await the proof. Thank you for watching the game on Prime.”

After this the particular user deleted his post as well as his Twitter page. It seems like Michael Kay won this one.
