Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews are the hosts of a podcast show in which they talk about a lot of things. This time, it is something different. Let’s talk more about their current topic.

The Fox Sports senior broadcasters discussed how things may get complicated when blending work and pleasure in the sports world on the most recent episode of their “Calm Down” podcast.

“I have dated athletes, but never anyone that I was covering at the time,”  Charissa Thompson said. “So I don’t know, it feels like a tricky situation.”

Thompson claimed that while working at ESPN, she dated a coworker.

“It wasn’t a superior, like we were equal because obviously then that’s a whole other thing,” she said. “You can’t date your boss.”

Dating a professional athlete is “looked down upon” in their field of work, according to Andrews, whose surrogate pregnancy with her husband, former NHL player Jarret Stoll, resulted in the birth of their son Mack over the summer.

“I think it depends on what your job is,” Andrews said. “It’s hard because in an everyday job, say if you were a contractor. I don’t know if it is as looked down upon as it is in our world.

“It kinda sucks, there is always this preconceived notion. It just sucks.”

Thompson Then said that she “didn’t date an athlete for the longest time because of that exact thing.”

“It was like, ‘Oh, that’s the only reason you’re doing this job because you want to date the athlete.’ No, it’s actually a good freakin job, it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and you make great money,” she said.

After two years of marriage, Thompson’s divorce from sports agent Kyle Thousand—whom she avoided naming in the discussion of her previous relationships—was made public.
The co-founder of the full-service creative marketing and advertising business Summit House, Steven Cundari, and the “Thursday Night Football” host are presently dating.
