Why the hell does the Pro Bowl still exists?
The NFL held the Pro Bowl on Sunday in advance of the Super Bowl LVI. It was, once again, a game without any intensity or anything interesting for the fans to turn on.
There were a lot of people going at the Pro Bowl on Twitter. The biggest attacks included former players who said that playing that game used to be something to be proud of and that what was going on at Las Vegas was really bad.

Oh, and of course, we had a classic Las Vegas moment:

But, again, it was a really bad game to watch. It doesn’t matter that there were a lot of stars playing: the game is really, really bad. If it’s still an honor to be voted and indicated to the Pro Bowl, fine, I get it – there’s also the fact that some contractual incentives are involved with the game. But there’s absolutely no point for the game to remains this way anymore: it’s bad for the league, it’s bad for the fans, and the players don’t want to be there.
If the players feel that being voted to the Pro Bowl are an important distinction because of the contractual incentives, then they should just change the Pro Bowl for the All-Pro in the contracts. There’s no game or anything involved with the All-Pro whatsoever, but everybody knows that this is the right way to measure whether a player was good during the season or not.
And, you know, the All-Pro doesn’t give us scenes like this:

This is a public plea for the league to just cancel the Pro Bowl or at least tweak its format. It’s really bad business currently. It’s not interesting. Nobody is stopping anything to watch the Pro Bowl on a given Sunday, especially with only the Super Bowl remaining.
Please, Goodell. Just get rid of the Pro Bowl. It will be better to everybody.
