Why Might Randy Orton Announce Retirement Right Before Return?
When Randy Orton declares his retirement, he could be ready to accomplish the unimaginable on WWE RAW. This year’s experience in the Elimination Chamber wasn’t good for Orton.
Why Might Randy Orton Announce Retirement Right Before Return?
Even though he was one of the more seasoned players, he lost and was obviously hurting for most of the contest.
After The Viper had already dispatched Orton, Logan Paul attacked him with the brass knuckles, costing Orton the victory.
This prevented Orton from challenging for the world championship at WrestleMania, allowing Drew McIntyre to win the match that evening. It’s doubtful that the celebrity will let it go too quickly.
Never forget…. Randy Orton was one of the MVPs of WWE right before and DURING the pandemic era. Everything he did was EXCELLENT. pic.twitter.com/qRhZJmsZ9Z

Randy Orton talked to the New York Post before of the men’s Elimination Chamber match on Saturday, February 24, discussing his thoughts on the injury that had kept him out of the ring for eighteen months and his true concern that it would be the end of his career.
Randy Orton, who never shows any emotion on WWE television, disclosed that the back issue that sidelined him in 2022 was originally thought to be a career-ending condition.
“I was in tears,” Orton confessed. “I think it’s OK for grown men to f–king cry and I was a little baby. I was so sad that it was being taken away from me.”
Orton acknowledged that years of physical strain from wrestling in the WWE had left him with a back ailment. He eventually learned to cope with the agony, but during a May 2022 SmackDown bout, it became intolerable.
Most people think that "great selling" is doing a flip or something after a move done to them…
But Randy Orton's selling at the Chamber was some of the best selling I've seen in a WHILE. Made me really think he was hurt, & made me concerned for his well being. That's an ART. pic.twitter.com/PaT9fPMQjT

“I was with my wife,” he remembered. “I was with a couple doctors. I was with a couple top-of-their-class neurosurgeons and they had looked at the MRI,” Orton recalled. “And based on my symptoms and how bad my lower spine was, based on the MRIs they were like, ‘You know what, you’ve had a great career. You got to start thinking about your life past wrestling and being there for your kids. This surgery isn’t the type of surgery you come back from and remain an athlete from.'”
He may enter the ring on WWE SmackDown and declare that his ailment is forcing him to retire, as his recuperation has not gone as planned. It would make this plausible given that he had lost a significant amount of time due to the injury, and The Viper has never shied away from leveraging that.
Randy Orton commented on a video of a guy giving random people the RKO: "Bring the punt kick back and give him a good ol case of CTE ya later plus 5 years in prison for assault." pic.twitter.com/0bqwHGn3nt

The United States Champion would feel more at peace if he announced his retirement. He would make fun of The Viper, believing that Orton was leaving, only to have him attack him instead.
