Brown was chosen as the Big 12 Conference’s Preseason Freshman of the Year before his first campaign. Brown was chosen by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the 48th overall pick. His draft rights were transferred by the Timberwolves to the Indiana Pacers on June 23, 2022, in exchange for money and a 2026 second-round pick. He agreed to a two-way contract with the Pacers on September 16, 2022.
