Franz Wagner plays basketball professionally for the NBA’s Orlando Magic. He is German. In college, he represented the Michigan Wolverines in basketball. Berlin-native Wagner began his professional Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) career with Alba Berlin. He received the 2019 BBL Best German Young Player award. Wagner participated in the 2018 Albert Schweitzer Tournament and won a gold medal while representing the German young national teams.

In Podgorica, Montenegro, during the 2017 FIBA U16 European Championship, Wagner represented Germany.
