Callahan was selected for both the 2009 All-Texas High School squad by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and the 5A All-State First Team. Following the 2015 NFL Draft, Callahan signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2015. On September 13 against the Green Bay Packers, he made his NFL debut.

Callahan was released by the Bears on September 22. Callahan was re-signed by the Bears for their practice squad on September 24. He was added to the active roster on October 20. Callahan intercepted his first pass of the season against the San Diego Chargers on November 9.
