The Boston Celtics selected Green as the fifth overall choice in the 2007 NBA Draft on June 28, 2007. Green inked a contract with the Denver Nuggets on August 12, 2021. On October 20, he made his team debut, scoring 13 points in a 110-98 victory over the Phoenix Suns. In a 133-96 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on January 15, 2022, Green recorded a season-high 26 points, three rebounds, and four assists.
