Noesen signed a one-year, $750,000 contract with the Carolina Hurricanes on July 31, 2021, as a free agent after his brief stay with the Maple Leafs organization. Once the Chicago Wolves won the Calder Cup and he had a great AHL season, the Hurricanes re-signed him for a two-year contract.
