In the 2016 Web.com Tour season, Homa came from seven strokes down to win the Rust-Oleum Championship in Ivanhoe, Illinois and reclaimed his PGA Tour Card for the 2016–17 year.

Homa lost his card after only making two cuts in 17 events on the 2017 PGA Tour. He earned only $18,008 that year. 2017 saw him tweet: “Had a few caddies hit me up recently hoping to team up. They heard they usually get weekends off which is apparently a great selling point.”
