Phil Nevin is an American professional baseball player, manager, and coach. He oversees the MLB team Los Angeles Angels. He participated in 1,217 games for the Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Anaheim Angels, San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and Minnesota Twins over the course of 12 MLB seasons. Philip has previously coached the San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball.

Nevin played college baseball for the Cal State Fullerton Titans team while attending California State University, Fullerton. He guided the Titans to the 1992 College World Series (CWS) last game when he earned the Golden Spike Award and the distinction of CWS Most Outstanding Player. Nevin, who was selected with the first overall pick in the 1992 Major League Baseball draft, played in MLB for seven teams over the course of 12 seasons. He was chosen to participate in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 2001.

After retirement, Nevin entered the broadcasting industry before spending a season as the manager of the independent Orange County Flyers. In the Tigers organization, he oversaw the Class AA Erie SeaWolves and Class AAA Toledo Mud Hens before moving on to manage the Reno Aces for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014. He later made a comeback to MLB, serving as manager of the Giants in 2017 and the Yankees from 2018 to 2021. In 2022, he became a coach for the Angels, and after Joe Maddon was fired, he was named interim manager. He was appointed the Angels’ permanent manager on October 5, 2022, for a period of one year.
