Bob Melvin is the manager of the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball is an American former professional baseball player and coach. Melvin had been the manager of the same team for the longest amount of time in MLB heading into the 2020 season. His 853 Oakland victories through 2021 were the second-most in team history (after Connie Mack). In 18 seasons as a Major League manager, he had an overall record of 1,346-1,272 (.514) and had guided his teams to seven postseason appearances and four division titles. Melvin is one of fourteen managers in MLB history with eight postseason trips; he is also the only one of the fourteen managers without a league pennant.
