William Grier, also called Will Grier, is a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. He was picked in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers after playing college football for the Florida Gators and West Virginia Mountaineers. Grier was released by the Panthers on August 31, 2021. On September 1, 2021, the Dallas Cowboys claimed Grier off waivers. He did not play in 2020 or 2021.
Grier will make his first career start in week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. It was announced on December 16, 2019. During the 38–6 loss, Grier passed for 224 yards and three interceptions while also rushing for 17 yards.
Grier passed for four yards and a pick-six in Week 17 against the New Orleans Saints before leaving the game in the second quarter due to a foot injury.

Will is married to Jeanne Grier (previously O’Neil), and they have one daughter, Eloise.

Jeanne spent three seasons as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers cheerleader and a full-time professional dancer before relocating to West Virginia. On one of her Instagram photos, Jeanne joked that she “retired at 21.” Jeanne keeps up with football these days by watching West Virginia games.
Will began his collegiate career in Florida, but things took a turn when he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs. Will ended up going to West Virginia after completing a year-long ban. Will met his future wife at the University of Florida, so it wasn’t all horrible in Gainesville.

Will is the oldest child of Chad Grier and Elizabeth Grier-Floyd, and was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. His father is a former quarterback for the East Carolina Pirates and is now a football coach. Nash and Hayes Grier are his two brothers. Skylynn Elizabeth Floyd is his half-sister, and John Henry “Hank” Grier is his half-brother.

Nash, Hayes, and Skylynn were all big fans of Vine, a now-defunct video-sharing app. Grier and his wife, Jeanne Marie O’Neil Grier, had their first child, Eloise Marie Grier, on November 10, 2016. Adeline James Grier, their second daughter, was born on January 28, 2020.
