The head coach of the Houston Texans of the National Football League is American football legend and former linebacker DeMeco Ryans. Ryans played college football for the University of Alabama, where he was selected as an undisputed All-American. The Houston Texans made Ryans their second-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, where he was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Prior to being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2012 and playing for them for four seasons before his retirement, Ryans was chosen for two Pro Bowls. Ryans began working for the San Francisco 49ers as a coaching assistant in 2017.
