NFL linebacker Drue Tranquill plays for the Los Angeles Chargers in American football. At Notre Dame, he participated in collegiate football. Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana was Tranquill’s high school. As a senior in 2013, Tranquill recorded four sacks, an interception, and 75 stops as a linebacker, including 16 tackles for loss. He also had 114 carries for 1,420 yards and 28 touchdowns as a running back, as well as 16 receptions for 348 yards and five more scores.

After graduating from high school, Tranquill was a four-star prospect who earned offers from several prestigious schools, namely those in the Big Ten Conference. The Los Angeles Chargers selected Tranquill in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft (130th overall). In 2019, he was selected as a member of the special team for the PFWA All-Rookie Team. In 2020, Tranquill started as a middle linebacker. He hurt his ankle in week 1 and was put on injured reserve on September 15, 2020.
