The Wizards picked McGee with the 18th overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. Before playing with the Dallas Mavericks, JaVale played with The Denver Nuggets, 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Phoenix Suns. He played with the Mavericks before i.e from 2012-15 and again signed the contract with them in 2022.
