With 16.1 points per game at the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship, he was the team’s leading scorer. Joseph was selected as the team’s captain before the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship. Joseph took part in three games in the Americas qualification tournament, which helped Canada qualify for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.

Cory was born on 20 August 1991 in Toronto, Canada to parents David Joseph and Connie Joseph. His parents met while competing for their respective men’s and women’s basketball teams at Mount Royal College. When he was a player for the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, his father won a CCAA national title. He later coached at the high school, college, and professional levels. At various levels, his mother served as a coach and a referee.
