On June 26, 2020, three days after departing the Brooklyn Nets, Pinson was picked up by the New York Knicks off waiver. Pinson signed on with the Milwaukee Bucks ahead of the NBA Summer League in 2021. He agreed to a 10-day deal with the Dallas Mavericks on December 20, 2021. Pinson re-signed with the Mavericks on July 1, 2022, for a single season.
