Hudgins scored 12 points and had a game-high six assists as the Bearcats defeated the Point Loma Nazarene Sea Lions in the 2019 NCAA Division II men’s basketball championship. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Division II Elite Eight.

Prior to the NBA draught in 2022, Hudgins participated in tryouts for the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets. He signed a two-way contract with the Rockets on July 1 after going undrafted, becoming the first player from Northwest Missouri State to do so.
