White Sox Fans Raised Funds To Construct A Billboard Demanding Jerry Reinsdorf To Sell The Team

Yes, the 1990s did happen, but Bulls supporters tend to be pessimistic most of the time. The Thursday trade of Jimmy Butler led to a great deal of resentment and boredom among Chicago’s fan base.

In fact, the general manager and vice president of basketball operations of the Bulls, Gar Forman, have received so much criticism that some daring individuals established a GoFundMe to pay for a billboard demanding their dismissal. They are frequently referred to as GarPax as a group.

Unfortunately, it appears that the #FireGarPax movement has picked up steam.

The Website says-

Are you tired of Jerry Reinsdorf’s choice to not build a winning, consistent baseball or basketball team?
Are you embarrassed by the White Sox?
This is your chance to show it.
If we reach our goals, we will get a billboard near the stadium emblazoned with the phrase “Sell the team, Jerry” on it.
The amount requested would cover 2 months and an installation fee.

If we either do not complete or exceed our goals, the money will be donated to a local Chicago charity.Since 1981, Jerry Reinsdorf has been the White Sox’s owner. Outside of a memorable 2005 World Series run, decades of failure and anguish have befallen White Sox fans since taking over the team.

As soon as the squad was purchased, things were difficult. Reinsdorf threatened to relocate the White Sox to St. Petersburg, Florida, where a brand-new dome stadium was being constructed, in order to get a new stadium.

Reinsdorf next conned the state of Illinois out of $150 million to build a new stadium. The White Sox have reached the postseason seven times under his 41-year rule. The White Sox are just one of five clubs to not have won a series in the past ten years.

When you consider how much the team is worth, Reinsdorf isn’t actually a wonderful owner. The White Sox now rank 14th out of the 30 MLB teams in terms of value. Even though Reinsdorf and co-owner Eddie Einhorn paid more than 84 times as much for the team in 1981, the expansion might have been more impressive. In general, the value of sports franchises is at an all-time high.
