Which NFL teams are out of playoff contention heading into Week 16?

As we dive into Week 16 of the 2022-23 NFL season, there are a total of five teams that have been eliminated from playoff contention. They are the Houston Texans (1-10-1), Chicago Bears (3-10), Denver Broncos (3-10), Arizona Cardinals (4-10), and Los Angeles Rams (4-10).

None of these five teams will be able to compete in the postseason, once the regular season concludes. The reigning Super Bowl champions, LA Rams, were the latest team to drop out of the qualification spots after they lost to the Green Bay Packers in Week 15.

So far, the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Washington Commanders, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, and Tennessee Titans are in the playoff races.

Which teams have qualified for the playoffs ahead of Week 16?

There are a total of six teams that have already made it to the postseason at the end of Week 15. The Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, and San Francisco 49ers have already booked a spot each in the playoffs. There are still a total of eight playoff berths available and with three weeks of regular season football remaining, there is a lot to play for.

A total of 14 teams will be making it to the playoffs in the NFL this season. The top teams from each division will get a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
