‘What’s He Got to Talk About My Nails for?’- Israel Adesanya Worked Up By Post Fight Comments of ‘Jealous and Insecure’ Jon Jones

Speaking out at the post-fight presser for UFC 276, Israel Adesanya talked about his lackluster title defense against Jared Cannonier inside the T-Mobile Arena. ‘The Last Stylebender’ failed to capture the imagination of both fans and critics, and he received some flak online from fans and certain media members.

Adesanya went on to admit that he had a rough night at the office but still stood by his performance against the ‘Killa Gorilla’. Per Adesanya, he ‘fu**ed’ up Jared Cannonier throughout the duration of the five rounds and was more than deserving of being recognized for taking out the number 2 ranked contender.

“I had an off night and I still f**ked him up… You’re so great, people just want to see you fall.”

One of Israel Adesanya’s most vocal detractors was former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. ‘Bones’ Jones mocked Izzy for his post-fight call-out of Alex Pereria, wherein he made a reference to the famed Disney movie ‘Frozen’.

Jones wasn’t amused with Israel Adesanya’s call-out and was seemingly more impressed with Alex Pereira’s highlight reel KO of Sean Strickland on the main card for UFC 276.

“Bro I just went back and watched Alex P fight!! Yeah I’m riding with him all day. He made it look way too easy. Really hard to believe he was unranked before this fight.”

“Bro I can’t stop thinking about this shit. How are you going to threaten a guy like Alex with glossy fingernails and a frozen reference. I’m over here scratching my head.” 

Israel Adesanya explodes on Jon Jones

‘The Last Stylebender’ didn’t find Jon Jones’ comments particularly flattering and he went off on the former champion. He labelled Jones as ‘jealous’ and insecure’ and there’s clearly no love lost between them.

“F**k Jon Jones. F**k Jon Jones. I don’t want to hear about that b*tch. What’s he got to talk about my nails for? He’s just jealous and insecure. He’s a f**k boy. He could never rock shit like this. He’s a bitch!” [h/t bjpenn.com]

It remains to be seen if this post UFC 276 exchange between Jones and Adesanya will revive their famed rivalry.
