What Would It Take For J.J. Watt To Join The NFL Again?

One of the greatest defensive players to ever play in the NFL, J.J. Watt has his sights set on the Hall of Fame. Which major network will sign the five-time All-Pro defensive end in the near future? or will he return to NFL?

What Would It Take For J.J. Watt To Join The NFL Again?

As the beginning of the football season draws near, J.J. Watt has a wide range of possibilities for his next professional move.

According to Marchand, CBS is the frontrunner to perhaps acquire Watt in a post that would first be part-time, although NBC and the NFL Network have also indicated interest.

But when asked if he would return to NFL what did Watt say?

On the Green Light show, Chris Long questioned the former standout defense on what he’ll do if a team contacts him this summer and he feels the itch to play. Watt outlined the reasons why he is unable to return.

“I am not training to play NFL football,” Watt said. “So you can call all you want, but I’m going to show up and you want me to play, I’m doing vanity workouts right now. I’m doing workouts so I look good when I go to the beach. I’m not going to go bull-rush Trent Williams right now.”

And while though it seems less and less probable that Watt will contemplate playing in the NFL full-time again next season, the former pass rusher for the Texans and Cardinals stated this week that there is one circumstance in which he might think about doing so.

Watt affirmed that he would return to the field if a team offered him $20 million for a single game.

“If they want to throw out $20 million for one game, I’ll show up, no problem,” Watt said. “I’ll suit up for one game, $20 million.”

Watt declared his retirement after compiling 12.5 sacks in his 12th NFL season, but not filing his official retirement paperwork. According to the 34-year-old, he wanted to go out on top and spend more time with his family.

Fans may still get to watch the five-time Pro Bowler on their TV screens this season even if he doesn’t don a uniform and play in games in the autumn. According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, if Watt accepts a position in television this year, CBS is now thought to be his top choice for employment.

Watt’s desire to enter the TV industry, especially so soon after retirement, is still unknown.

The 34-year-old would not be working full-time since she does not desire the significant time commitment that would be required. Furthermore, he wouldn’t be taking anyone’s place on the rival networks.
