What Is The Darkness Retreat Cave Where The Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers Is Gonna Stay This Weekend?
Aaron Rodgers isn’t ready to make a decision on the 2023 season yet. First comes sitting alone in the dark for four days. Seriously.
What Is The Darkness Retreat Cave Where The Packers’ QB Aaron Rodgers Is Gonna Stay This Weekend?
This year, Rodgers has switched from ayahuasca to seclusion. The Packers’ quarterback told Pat McAfee on Tuesday that he is still unsure of his future intentions, but that he would be going to a “Darkness Retreat” in order to learn more about sensory deprivation. At that time, it’s expected that he will show himself to the public and announce whether he intends to retire, join the Packers in 2023, or even ask for a trade.

We cannot simply ignore the entire “Darkness Retreat” situation. It’s Rodgers’ most recent obsession with broadening his thinking. What then is a “Darkness Retreat,” what does Rodgers aim to accomplish with one, and what promises are made by those in charge of these camps?
Dark retreats have been a tradition for a very long time.
In some schools of Tibetan Buddhism and Bon, an ancient Buddhist sect, prolonged periods of darkness are a regular practise.
Both times they advise the yogi (religious practitioners) to spend a lot of time alone in dark, specifically designed spaces. This is combined with the application of imagination-enhancing practises, which some contend results in visions and spiritual awareness.
Darkness retreats stem from ancient practices when monks sought spiritual guidance by meditating in a cave. These days, a dark retreat can cost $1,000 and comes with food service, toilet paper and a yoga mat. https://t.co/LqtX7LTzOK

In the religious tradition, it is thought that individuals who become adept at being in the dark can meet with gods. Additionally, it can span anything from a few hours to several years and is only performed by experienced yogis under tight supervision.
Does a Dark Retreat have any effect?
Your viewpoint on something is wholly dependent upon how you understand the underlying religious ideas. For a moment, let’s put Tibetan Buddhism aside and pay attention to the affluent Americans who are paying to spend time in the dark.
The Ganzfeld Effect provides some empirical support for the idea that someone experiencing sensory deprivation may have visions. This is when the brain enhances neural noise in an effort to magnify visual signals when it is deprived of visual stimuli after receiving them for a prolonged length of time.
So I guess this is what Aaron Rodgers will be living in for 4 days.

People in isolation experience things as a result of their brain amplifying certain brain activity. Visions ranging from basic forms and colours may come from this, and some recipients of sensory deprivation saying they could see the blood vessels in their eyes — all the way to complete visions and hallucinations.
What’s next for Aaron Rodgers?
The four-time NFL MVP has previously acknowledged using psychedelics like ayahuasca to better understand himself. It was unable to contact Mr. Rodgers or his agents for comment.
He’s going to enter the shadows. Rodgers promised McAfee that he would spend four days at the retreat, after which he would likely return with the solution to the question of his future. From then, no one knows when we’ll learn more about his plans for 2023.

Rodgers often takes his time making decisions, as he did last year before finally re-signing with the Packers. Thus, it can take some time before we learn what he will do next.
