Iowa State (16-4, 5-2) raised its record at home this year to 13-0 and solidified its place in the Big 12. The Cyclones’ Keshon Gilbert scored 16 points, while reserve Curtis Jones scored 15 points.

The Cyclones shot 14 for 30 from beyond the arc, matching a season-high effort from the field thanks to the efforts of all three players.

After the Cyclones defeated the Jayhawks, there was a traditional court stormin’, but the audience also got to see some top-notch police dancing.

Iowa State (16-4, 5-2) cemented its spot in the Big 12 and improved their home record to 13-0 this season. Keshon Gilbert of the Cyclones scored 16 points, while Curtis Jones, a reserve, scored 15.

Thanks to the efforts of all three players, the Cyclones went 14 for 30 from beyond the arc, tying a season-high performance from the field.

King remarked, “To be honest, it was just playing for each other.” Being a fantastic, selfless team is something we take great pleasure in. We should all be commended for locating us in the locations where we were available.

Leading Kansas (16-4, 4-3) with 20 points and 15 rebounds was Hunter Dickinson. Kevin McCullar Jr. ended with 16 points on 5 of 18 shots, while Johnny Furphy had 15 points.

It becomes more difficult when a team that typically shoots four threes a game hits fourteen, according to Dickinson. “It makes attempting a comeback more difficult.”

Because of a reorganization of the Big 12 membership, it was the only game the bitter rivals had planned together this season. This past Saturday was the 257th match between Iowa State and Kansas. The Jayhawks had won eight of the previous 10.
