WATCH: Ravens’ Justin Tucker mocks Russell Wilson for airplane workout

In the wake of the difficult start to the 2022 season experienced by both he and the Denver Broncos, critics have turned their attention to quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson has also been receiving criticism from players on opposing teams, with the most recent example coming from the All-Pro kicker for the Ravens, Justin Tucker.

Tucker made light of Wilson’s recent comments that he worked out for the majority of the Broncos’ eight-hour flight to London for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars by saying that he worked out during the flight back to Baltimore after Thursday night’s win over the Buccaneers in Tampa. The game was played on Thursday night. As he continues to make his way back from a hamstring injury, Wilson stated that he kept himself active on the flight by performing high knees and other exercises.

“What are we doing on the plane right back home? I heard Lamar [Jackson] is leading us on high knees,” Tucker joked before changing his tone after a few seconds. “But we’ve got to play him, and we respect him. We like him.”

Is it possible that Tucker is making fun of Wilson because of the money he has? After sitting out Denver’s Week 7 loss to the Jets, the Broncos quarterback will get the nod to lead his team against the Jaguars. Jackson, who is Tucker’s quarterback, did not receive a new deal from the Ravens this offseason because the two teams were unable to come to an agreement regarding a new deal during this offseason. On the other hand, Wilson was rewarded with a five-year, $242.5 million contract upon joining the Broncos. Following the game on Thursday night, Jackson addressed a fan’s placard that read “Ravens, pays em now,” which made reference to the continuing contract predicament of the former most valuable player in the league.

Later on in the season, as Tucker alluded to, the Broncos and the Ravens will square off against each other. In Week 13, the Baltimore Ravens will play at home against the Denver Broncos in a game that the Ravens should be substantially favored to win unless the Broncos’ offense starts to find its way.
