WATCH: Pittsburgh Steelers George Pickens Pulls of an Insane Gravity Defying Catch That Might Put OBJ to Shame

The Pittsburgh Steelers took on the Cleveland Browns in what was the first game of game week two of the 2022 NFL regular season. The Steelers (1-2) came up short against the Browns and succumbed to a 23-20 loss. It was the Browns that opened the scoring on the night thanks to an Amari Cooper touchdown. The first quarter ended 7-0 in favor of the Browns. However, in the second half, the Steelers clawed back and took a slender one-point lead 14-13.

The Browns took the lead once again in the third quarter thanks to a 34 Yd Field Goal by Cade York. Unfortunately for the Steelers, the fourth quarter is where the game completely slipped away from their hands. A dominant display in the final quarter by the Browns saw them secure an impressive 29-17 win against the Steelers.

Despite a bleak display by Mike Tomlin and his men, there was a standout moment in the game that might very well be one of the defining moments of this season. George Pickens was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 52nd pick in the second round. In a passage of play, Mitch Trubisky lofted a long ball towards Pickens, and the trajectory of the ball was well beyond his reach.

Therefore, Pickens extended his body and pulled off an insane one-handed catch that stretched his body to the absolute limit. At one point, George Pickens’ body was parallel to the ground in mid-air. We’re just three weeks into the season and Pickens’ catch is in strong contention for the of the year.

Pittsburgh Steelers fall short against the Browns

This is the second game in a row that the Steelers have let the game slip away from their hands in the final two quarters. Against the Patriots as well, the Steelers threw away the game for the lack of a better term.

Teryl Austin is in his first year as the defensive coordinator of the Steelers, but he will have to make sure that this is not a regular occurrence under his watch if the men from Pittsburgh are aiming to make it to the postseason this time around.
