Watch: Ex-NFL Player Damon Arnette Getting Arrested In A Viral Video

Damon Arnette was targeted by police during his arrest in July, according to a new police video acquired by TMZ Sports, with one officer calling the former Raiders defensive back “a f***ing fool” outright.

An officer’s body camera filmed the entire encounter, showing how angry the officers were with the former first-round selection after pulling him over in Miami shortly after midnight on July 26.

Police records state that just hours earlier, the officers had pulled Arnette over and discovered he was operating a vehicle with a suspended licence. Despite this, they let him go as long as he didn’t drive for a while until his licence was reinstated. This is why the officers seemed upset with Arnette.

One cop can be heard in the video telling the former Ohio State star, who was 25 years old at the time of the stop, “We gave you a f***ing break! You knew your f***ing license was suspended.”

Arnette responded, “I got practise in the morning,” … but the cops clearly didn’t care, saying in the video, “It doesn’t matter bro, you’re going to jail, bro.”

When one of the officers had finished handcuffing Arnette, he looked in his pockets and discovered what the police later characterised as “a white powdery substance similar with that of cocaine.”

In the video, the officer can be heard yelling at Arnette at that point.

The policeman yelled, “Idiot.” You’re a complete moron, bro. This was your chance. You had the chance to go home. You made a mess of it.

On the way to the station, the video shows the cop continued to chastise Arnette … telling him in the squad car, “Now you’re going to jail for what? ‘Cause you’re stupid.”

“Honestly, it sucks,” the cop added. “We can’t even give people warnings without them f***ing it up for themselves.”

According to TMZ, Arnette was ultimately charged with felony cocaine possession and misdemeanour reckless driving.

Arnette began a diversionary programme in September in an effort to get the case dismissed. Arnette was required to submit to random drug testing, complete a substance abuse evaluation, report monthly, and pay fees, among other requirements of the programme, according to a spokesperson for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office at the time. The spokesperson added that if Arnette complied, then prosecutors would review his charges.

Arnette was detained and charged on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of concealing or carrying a weapon without a permit, and two counts of possessing controlled narcotics in Las Vegas in a different incident in January.

After a distressing video of the defensive back brandishing a gun and threatening to kill someone went viral on social media in November 2021, Arnette was cut by the Raiders.

Between 2020 and 2021, the Ohio State product played in 13 games with the Raiders, starting seven of them. Arnette is presently a free agent after having brief stints with the Dolphins and Chiefs.
