Washington Commanders’ Kamren Curl Fantasy: DB NFL Defensive Data, Stats & Speculations 2022

Player Outlook

Kamren Curl understands what humility is all about. It took the 2020 NFL draft until the seventh (and last) round before the former Arkansas Razorback was selected.

He attended training camp in spite of not knowing if he would make the final roster. For the majority of 2021, the Washington Commanders’ secondary was chaotic. Curl has already made an effort to assume some of the defense’s leadership. Curl, more than any other secondary member, represented constancy.

Last season, quarterbacks had little issue tearing apart Jack Del Rio’s secondary, whether it was due to failure to complete a specific assignment or a breakdown in communication. Ron Rivera thinks Kam Curl is becoming the Commanders’ secondary leader at OTAs.

Kamren Curl fantasy data

In 16 games, Curl recorded 99 tackles, five pass breakups, one sack, and one fumble recovery in 2021. The 14-of-16-game starter from the 2020 seventh round played 84.7 percent of the defensive snaps in his games, including six weeks when he had a 100% snap share.

Kamren Curl nevertheless concluded without a pick, despite having made three as a rookie the year before (in 16 games, 11 starts). Even so, he’ll probably return as a starter in 2022, and if he lines up next to another deep/free safety like Bobby McCain, he may record triple-digit tackles.

Curl, more than any other secondary member, represented constancy. Curl zipped when it seemed like all of his colleagues zagged on a defense that struggled with bad tackling, particularly in the second and third levels of the field, as his 82.4 tackling grade from PFF placed first among the first-team defense.
