Warriors Ban Kings’ Fans From Bringing Cowbells In The Chase Center After Bob Myers Incident
On Thursday night, Game 3 of their NBA Playoffs first-round clash between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors will be played at home. It turns out that the Warriors are actually going all out, including forbidding King’s supporters from carrying cowbells into Chase Center.
Warriors Ban Kings’ Fans From Bringing Cowbells In The Chase Center
All Sacramento fans planning to watch the game live at Chase Center on Thursday were sent a PSA by the Kings on Twitter. The tweet states that all cowbells will be seized before the game and only be allowed back after it.
“Cowbells will not be permitted at Chase Center. Any fan carrying a cowbell will be directed to the outdoor bag check location, where they can check their cowbell and retrieve at the conclusion of the game.”

The Kings cruised to a 2-0 NBA Playoffs advantage in Sacramento as ecstatic supporters rang their recognizable cowbells. On Twitter, a supporter was seen ringing his cowbell behind Warriors general manager Bob Myers. The fan vigorously shook the cowbell, much like Will Ferrell did in the venerable “More Cowbell” sketch on “Saturday Night Live.”

I suppose you could argue that the Warriors detest cowbells and are working to eliminate them from Game 3 as much as possible. The Dubs, who are presently behind the series 0-2 and must win this game, will undoubtedly go above and beyond to help their side gain an edge.

Maybe the Warriors want to somewhat level the playing field as well? In Game 1, Draymond Green was penalized by the NBA with a one-game ban for stomping on Kings player Domantas Sabonis. Fans of the Kings will no longer have access to their cowbells, and the reigning champions will be without their talisman. Although it’s not exactly a fair exchange, I suppose the Warriors will accept anything.

When the series returns to Sacramento for Game 5, it will be fascinating to watch how the Kings respond to the Warriors’ fairly petty action. Of course, it assumes the Kings don’t ultimately sweep Golden state.
