Vince Russo Divulges Private Conversation With Female WWE Star on AEW Co-Owner Tony Khan

Pro wrestlers have found AEW to be a respectable option for WWE, despite the fact that it appears Tony Khan’s organization pays its female employees less than their male counterparts. Women in All Elite Wrestling don’t receive competitive pay, a female wrestler reportedly told Vince Russo.

The most recent episode of Writing with Russo focused on how Jade Cargill could be used creatively on the main roster in light of her rumored transfer to World Wrestling Entertainment. In a perfect world, Tony Khan wouldn’t have wanted to split ways with Cargill, one of the most well-known figures in the AEW’s women’s division.

When discussing AEW contracts, Vince Russo claimed to have had a secret meeting with a female WWE performer who revealed a significant fact regarding Tony Khan, as you can see in the video below:

“I’m going to say this, bro. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I will tell you this. A current female member of the WWE roster told me this, okay? Because I guess some women in WWE have put their toe in the water, and they told me, bro, believe this or not, when it comes to the female wrestlers, Tony Khan does not pay the females well.” [2:55 – 3:20]

Vince Russo hypothesizes as to why Jade Cargill selected WWE over AEW.

While there may have been other elements at play, Vince Russo suggested that Jade Cargill’s decision to join the Triple H-led promotion may have been influenced by the financial incentives.

Russo made it clear that the claim that Khan didn’t pay women should be taken with a grain of salt, but he could understand why a corporation with the stature of Cargill could have been unsatisfied with the offers made by the company.

Contrarily, Russo didn’t completely rule out the possibility that WWE offered Jade a contract that she might not have been able to refuse. Added him:

“So, that’s what I’m thinking. If that is true, then I am thinking dollars and cents. I am thinking, did they make her a monetary offer that she could not refuse? That’s what I’m asking because what else could they offer her, Chris?” [3:21 – 3:42]
