VIDEO: Morocco Star Achraf Hakimi Hits the Jaylen Waddle Celebration After Beating Spain in the FIFA World Cup 2022

Tuesday’s Round of 16 World Cup match between Morocco and Spain was decided on penalties following a scoreless extra period. Spain was unable to score any penalties, but Morocco overpowered them by drilling in three. On the fourth round of penalty kicks, Achraf Hakimi scored to secure the victory and let out a Jaylen Waddle celebration before his teammates joined him. The two sides entered the shootout after 120 minutes of scoreless play, and Spain, who had a lot of experience with penalty kicks going into this World Cup, missed all three of its tries.

When Achraf Hakimi scored on a stunning kick straight down the center (known as a Panenka), Morocco scored three goals and progressed. He then celebrated by imitating Jaylen Waddle’s touchdown celebration.

Tuesday afternoon’s match between Portugal and Switzerland will determine who will play Morocco next. Two victories and a tie helped Morocco top Group F. Morocco defeated Spain in a penalty shootout to move to the quarterfinals for the first time in their history at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar on Tuesday.

Waddle, one of nine receivers tied for second in the league in touchdowns with three, has made the waddle his trademark touchdown dance since last year when everyone else had switched to the Griddy. He has established himself as one of the Dolphins offense’s most dangerous threats, and he has his teammates celebrating with him in the end zone.

Although Jaylen Waddle won’t be named offensive Rookie of the Year, the first-round selection for 2021 is having a terrific first season and has a decent chance of joining Ja’Marr Chase on the All-Rookie team at the end of the campaign.
