VIDEO:- All Out Brawl Breaks Out as Punches Are Thrown in a New Jersey Basketball Game
In a competitive sporting environment, the stakes are high and the pressure builds as everyone involved wants to come out on top. While in most cases the situation is diffused after a few words are exchanged, in other cases, the situation escalates to a point where things get physical. While this is not a common occurrence it is something that is considered a part of the sport. Unfortunately, such an incident recently took place at a New Jersey high school basketball game.
On Thursday night, Camden High School played Camden Eastside in the inaugural Camden County Tournament in Cherry Hill, NJ. Top-seeded Camden was leading 30-17 with a little over 4 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter when all hell broke loose. An initial punch turned the gymnasium into a madhouse.
The incident started when a Camden eastside player going to set a screen against Camden’s center was met with a punch that absolutely rocked him. As soon as the punch landed, the player ran back but this did not stop the matter for his teammates as well as the people watching in the stands as everyone rushed towards the aggressor and this further turned into an all-out melee.

Thankfully the incident was squashed immediately and did not escalate any further. Camden is a notoriously unsafe area and was recently declared as the most dangerous city in New Jersey it also ranks high among the most dangerous cities in the United States.

As soon as the melee broke out, former Memphis player-turned-politician Arthur Barclay ran to the court to grab D. J. Wagner of Camden who has currently rated the top prospect in basketball in the United States according to ESPN.
Following the incident, the Camden School District issued a statement on the incident that took place. The statement said, “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and fans. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.”
