Victor Wembanyama Is Again Turning Heads, This Time It’s His Hair Color That Is Creating Buzz
Victor Wembanyama, the top overall draft choice in the NBA, is accustomed to drawing attention because of his exceptional talent and stature. However, the Spurs rookie center made headlines on social media on Monday for a different reason: his new hairdo. Let’s take a look at his new experiment with his hair.

Wembanyama’s teammate Jeremy Sochan shared a video of his new hair color on Instagram while making a suggestion that perhaps the 7-foot-5 potential star was even emulating Sochan, who is known to occasionally sport his own wacky fashions. Social media caught it up right away with conflicting opinions; some even questioned whether Wembanyama had lost a wager.
The Spurs are counting on Victor

With his blonde buzz cut and middle purple stripe, the 7-foot-5 center will be sure to catch the opponents’ attention now even more than before. Supporting the new hairstyle and doing their best to make their youngster feel at ease are Spurs fans who are all-in on Victor and hoping that he doesn’t end up being a draft bust. (Whether or not they actually like the hair.)

Others, though, claim that Wembanyama appears to have been hazed.
I’ve had my fair share of horrible hair days, but it’s not ideal when your new look is compared by your teammates to getting punked.
This is EXTREMELY concerning. We already saw confidence issues in the preseason, now we are copying teammates…👀👀

Spurs fans are hoping that Wembanyama and Sochan will be able to merge not only their hairstyles but also their on-court play, whether or not Wembanyama lost a bet or was just having fun by replicating Sochan’s previous hair designs. Due to their joint participation in international games and tournaments, the two are fairly accustomed to one another.

The Spurs selected Sochan with the ninth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. With frantic Spurs supporters hoping that the two would be a strong force this upcoming season, the hashtag “Sochan Effect” has been popular.
We’ll see if Victor Wembanyama can make good use of his new hairstyle. If not, you can bet that once the season begins in October, the fan bases of other teams will give him the cold shoulder.
