Vanessa Bryant and Kobe Bryant Love Story: A Perfect Tail

Kobe Bryant and Vanessa were meant to be together forever and they would’ve been if it wasn’t for Kobe’s untimely passing in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna was also aboard and lost her life. The environment at the Bryant household has not been the same ever since. The couple had four girls together, Natalia, Gianna, Bianka, and Capri.

Let’s have a look at how their love story unfolded. Vanessa and Kobe met way back in 1999, when they were just teenagers, and remained together until January 2020. Kobe and Vanessa got married in 2001, and apart from a brief time when they were separated in 2011, they have remained together ever since.

Kobe Bryant got married at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Dana Point, California on April 18, 2001. Reportedly, Kobe went against his parent’s wishes to marry Vanessa as she wasn’t African-American.

Vanessa and Kobe already had a daughter and then announced their second pregnancy in 2006 who they named Gianna. Gianna was born in May 2006. However, in 2011, Vanessa filed for divorce after 10 years of marriage. But they eventually reconciled in 2013. In 2013, Vanessa wrote on her Instagram, “We are pleased to announce that we have reconciled. Our divorce action will be dismissed. We are looking forward to our future together.”

2016 was a big year for the Bryant family. The couple commemorated two major milestones; Kobe’s 20 year NBA career and his 15 years of marriage. The couple soon announced their 3rd baby in 2016. The couple announced their baby news in 2016. Bianka was born in December 2016.

Vanessa stuck through Kobe’s side throughout his NBA career and was ready to start the next phase of their life together. Kobe even won an Oscar for his animated short Dear Basketball in 2018 with his wife right by his side at the awards ceremony.

In 2019, Kobe and Vanessa announced their fourth baby girl. They even celebrated their 18th anniversary in 2019 where Kobe showed a lot of love towards his wife on her birthday. They also got to celebrate their 20 years of dating at Disney World. The last Instagram post was the Bryant family celebrating Christmas and New Year’s together.

Unfortunately, that was the last highlight the Bryant family has to live on from. Kobe’s untimely passing took the whole world by storm. A basketball legend, leader, teammate, mentor, husband, and father, Kobe was everything to many and the basketball world is still recuperating from that loss.

May Gianna’s and Kobe’s souls find peace wherever they are.
