While the Cowboys were 3-1 into Week 4, the 49ers were 4-0 and possessed maybe the most complete squad in the NFL. This was an opportunity for Dallas to demonstrate that they are genuine and should be considered a major Super Bowl contender this season.

Dak Prescott, the Cowboys’ quarterback, had a nightmarish game, throwing three interceptions and completing only 14 passes in a loss that dropped Dallas to 3-2 on the season. He was also heavily mocked by former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, who loved seeing Prescott struggle.

One ardent fan travelled to Levi’s Stadium to see his team’s humiliation. When NBC’s cameras caught the fan on the phone while wearing a jersey, a Cowboys hard helmet, and receiving gloves, it quickly became an instant meme that pretty well summed up the night for anybody supporting for Dallas.

Prescott threw three interceptions instead of one. The 49ers scored 14 points as a consequence of two interceptions: a one-yard touchdown catch by Kyle Juszczyk and a 26-yard touchdown run by Jordan Mason.
Prescott was benched in the fourth quarter after passing for 153 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions on 14-of-24 attempts.

In contrast, 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was outstanding. The second-year quarterback completed 17-of-24 pass attempts for 252 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions before being yanked with more than 10 minutes remaining, owing in part to Dallas’ loss.
