Unreal Stat Shows How Five Schools Dominated the 2022 NBA and NFL Drafts
The pandemic allowed for serious professional football, basketball, and baseball games to be played simultaneously for sports enthusiasts. The NBA Finals featured a battle between the Warriors and the Celtics, and four MLB clubs were vying for a spot in the World Series while the regular football season was in full swing.
The recently ended NBA draft began with a massive shock, but when the trade market dried up, most of the pyrotechnics came from the choices themselves. To the amazement of everyone outside the Magic war room, Orlando selected Paolo Banchero at number one, despite several rumors that Jabari Smith Jr. was the clear favorite.
Prior to the Jaguars‘ first choice, many analysts predicted that the 2022 NFL Draft would be one of the wildest and most unexpected ever, and they were not wrong. The 2022 NFL Draft set a new mark for the most first-round deals since the start of the new Draft era with a total of nine trades.
Five schools dominated both NBA and NFL draft
Five US schools: Ohio State University, University of Kentucky, University of Michigan, Baylor University, and University of Memphis, had multiple picks in both the NBA and NFL drafts in 2022.
