Tyreek Hill Takes on a Bizarre Challenge to Prove He Has the Safest Hands in the League After a Recent Callout
Tyreek Hill is one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, and questioning his hands is not something the ‘Cheetah’ will tolerate. Last week, Steve Smith appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s podcast. Smith went on to state that Tyreek Hill was not good with his hands and that he used his body to complete a lot of the passes that were thrown at him. He also went ahead to brand him not ‘natural’ when it comes to catching a ball.
Fun fact: Canadian maple syrup accounts for 75% of the world's maple syrup. Syrup is sticky and anyone who hauls in 11 passes for 190 yards and 2️⃣ TDs, like @cheetah in Week 2, must dip their gloves in our syrup. #FinsUp for the win!

Given that catching a ball well is something he has built a reputation on, it is easy to see why Hill took offense to that statement. So naturally, Hill opted for the most natural response to such allegations. The former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver took to TikTok to share a video of him catching a few passes thrown his way.

However, to prove how good his hands really are, Hill lathered his hands with maple syrup on one instance and butter on the other in order to show his doubters that even with conditions stacked against him, he can still catch a ball.
Tyreek Hill hits back at his doubters
Now, Smith has made some serious allegations against Tyreek, so is the ‘Cheetah’ really someone who drops catches? Tyreek did have nine drops in 2020 and 10 the next year, but he averaged fewer than five in all the seasons prior to those. Amid his maiden year in Miami, he’s had only three drops and a career-low drop rate of 4.2%. Cheetah’s yards per route run is at a whopping 3.68 compared to just 2.11 in 2021 when he had 111 receptions.

This season, Tyreek Hill leads the NFL with 961 receiving yards through Week 8, putting him on pace for over two thousand for the year, which is insane to say the very least. Additionally, Hill has won the ultimate prize in football, which is something Smith was never able to do. Hill is definitely in a league of his own when it comes to wide receivers in the NFL and he does not seem to be slowing down any time soon.
