Two-time Super Bowl winner Von Miller claims he wants to fulfill six-year contract with Bills

One of the best linebackers in NFL history, Von Miller has already made his mark on the current generation. His career total of 115.5 sacks has led to eight Pro Bowl appearances. He is a two-time Super Bowl winner and was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s all-decade team for the 2010s.

Despite all of his successes, 33-year-old Miller reportedly aspires to do much more. He committed to a six-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills in March. Also, he informed Buffalo News that he intended to complete the whole term of the agreement.

Six-year contracts aren’t commonly signed by NFL players today. These transactions seldom ever come to pass. One notable exception was Von Miller, who in 2016 signed and completed a contract that was then the most ever for a defender.

Buffalo’s agreement contains a $45M completely guaranteed sum, but there is no money promised after 2024. Additionally, a sizable final-year pay raise is included to raise the AAV to $20MM. However, Miller doesn’t want to leave the Bills before the end of the lengthy contract. Instead, he wants to stay with the team until 2027.

Miller stated, “This is a six-year deal, so I’m looking forward to playing the entire thing.” “I’m attempting to visualize everything. Bruce Smith and Tom Brady both accomplished it. All the men who have had successful professions for a long time and who I admire. Therefore, I’m just going to take each day as it comes and accept whatever God offers me. I want to act out the entire situation. The more you know me, the worse I get. My perspective has changed.”

Miller would be just shy of 40 years old if he played six seasons with Buffalo. But Miller, who goes to enormous lengths in training and recovery, is perhaps the only one who can pull it off. These include diet, massage, acupuncture, cryotherapy, and cold tubs.

By surrounding Miller with defensive ends on rookie contracts (Gregory Rousseau, Boogie Basham, and A.J. Epenesa), the Bills are relying on him to remain on track. To complete this D-line retooling attempt, the team did sign Tim Settle, an ex-Washington D-tackle, and brought back Shaq Lawson and Jordan Phillips.

Given that he missed all of the 2020 season due to a shoulder injury. It is possible that six more seasons at the very top will be sufficient for him to attain the milestone. Miller is as tenacious as ever if there is one thing that is clear. He said that keeping positive and healthy will be essential to achieving his long-term objectives.
