Twins’ Carlos Correa Gets Booed By Home Crowd: ‘I’d boo myself too’
In almost every ballpark in the league, Carlos Correa has grown accustomed to hearing jeers; nevertheless, on Tuesday, he was jeered by Target Field’s home crowd for the first time.
And he believes it to be quite fair.

Correa’s batting average dropped to.185 after he failed to get a hit in five at-bats on Tuesday night. Tuesday’s Twins’ loss to the San Diego Padres saw Correa go 0-5 at the plate and leave six runners on base. Twins fans jeered their hero following his final two at-bats.
In recent summer, Correa re-signed with the Twins on a six-year contract. “I’d boo myself too with the amount of money I’m making if I’m playing like that,” he added.

Concerns about Correa’s physical, which centred on his surgically repaired leg in 2014, were raised by the Giants and the Mets.
The difficulties facing the great shortstop hitting below the Mendoza Line in the No. 2 slot have increased as the Twins’ offense has recently struggled.

“Carlos has great perspective,” manager Rocco Baldelli said. “He knows that. He understands that. Adding stress to a situation never works. Adding ideas to a situation and adding some patience for yourself and some ways to actually calm down probably work better than anything else.”
